A Still Small Voice Inside

A couple days ago, when we got back from a revival to our hotel room, I was sitting on the bed looking at something on my phone. While I was looking, I wasn’t paying much attention to anything else. The first thing I remember is Tyler saying loudly, “Mykaela! Have you not been hearing me?” I looked up from my phone to find out that Cooper had been talking to himself, and dancing in the mirror. Tyler had been trying to get my attention to show me, but I was too involved in my phone, that I didn’t hear him, and I missed the whole thing!

After I thought about it for a minute, I realized how often I do that. Then God spoke to me and said, “How often do you neglect to hear what I’m saying, because you’re too busy?” Wow! Talk about convicting. It breaks my heart to think of how many times God has tried to tell me something, but I was too busy to notice.

1 Kings 19:12 says, “And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” I’ve been thinking about this a lot. So many times we think that God is going to show us things in this extravagant way, when most of the time, he wants to show us in a quiet way. He wants us to listen to Him. He wants us to always have our hearts open and available to receive what He has for us! The sweetest things I’ve learned from the Lord over the years have been the lessons I would’ve missed if I hadn’t been listening. I hope after reading this, you’ll remember to listen out for God’s still, small voice.

We had a great time at East Lumberton Baptist Church this week! Sadly, I had to miss a night because Cooper wasn’t feeling well at all. Thankfully he’s feeling much better, and we got to visit the Exploration Station in Lumberton, NC. It’s the cutest little children’s museum, and even though he was a little young for some of the stuff, he had a ton of fun! I’ve included some pictures of him playing below.

In the coming weeks, I plan on working on my blog a lot more. I’m considering doing two shorter posts a week instead of just one. Let me know what you think in the comments. I’ll do one devotional type post, and one fun post. Let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks so much for reading!

Social media can be a big trap used by satan, but you are doing a great job of using it to reach out to women.
I am praying for your family.
