Prayerbooking

I am so excited to get this post out! I’ve been trying to get around to it, but finally made the time. Prayer booking is brand new to me. When I heard about it, I knew I wanted to get in on it.

I first learned about it from Mrs. Amy Edwards on Facebook. She is a pastor’s wife, who is a wonderful speaker, and writer. I’ve had the pleasure of hearing from her multiple times, and we do her Bible studies monthly at church with the ladies. I love her material so when she put a prayer booking video up on her page, I was so excited to start. I was slightly intimidated by the process, but once I started, I went all in, and it has been a blast.

Prayer booking is so much fun, but it has also been such a powerful tool in my prayer life. I’ve learned a lot about prayer, and my book has brought my prayers to life. Something that I heard a while back that really stuck with me is, “I hate when people say, “All we can do is pray.” When truly, praying is the best thing we can do!” Prayer is so, so powerful. Prayer changes things. It can change your circumstances, it changes your relationship with God, and it changes our hearts.

So, if you’re still reading, and want to make a prayer book – I’m going to walk you through what you need. I’ll have several links attached throughout this post of some items I have! Everything I’ve purchased is from Amazon, or Hobby Lobby. Almost everything can be found on my Amazon storefront.

•••Let’s get started!•••

The first thing you need is Amy Edwards’ prayer journal she wrote. If you don’t purchase anything else – GET THIS. It’s amazing. This is where you’ll write out your personal prayers. My favorite part of this book is the head to toe prayers. Head to toe for yourself, your husband, and your children. This book is your base! You’re going to take the binding out, cut the holes off the pages, and put the pages in your journal.

Next you need an

• A5 journal

A5 hole punch

That’s your base. Now for the fun part! You’re going to need:

Photos (meaningful photos of your family, friends, church, anything you specifically want to pray for.) I printed my photos at Walgreens!

Scrapbook paper (you can purchase paper with holes in it on Amazon, or you can purchase regular scrapbook paper and cut it to size.)

Washi tape

Stickers

Pens

Scissors

Paper cutter

…and you’re ready to begin! You can get as creative, or basic as you want. I had fun doing this by myself, but we put together a little event with our church ladies, and we all got together and worked on our books. It was such a sweet time. It would be fun to do at your house with a group of ladies, or at your church. One thing I noticed, is that it was a sweet bonding experience for mothers and daughters. How precious is it to share your prayers with your mom or daughter?

I hope this post was helpful for those of you that asked! If you make a prayer book, let me know! I’m so excited for what this is doing for Christian women! All glory and praise goes to Jesus. Thanks for sticking with me! I’m attaching some photos below of my prayer book, and some photos others have sent me!

My friend’s prayer book. She is doing an individual section for each of her four children. It’s such a great idea!
