Do you ever have those days where you feel like you can’t handle it anymore? Life is piling up on top of you, and you can feel yourself ready to lose it at any moment? I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t experienced that a few times here recently.
Between being a busy wife and mama to three children, I tend to get overwhelmed easily. I love my life, and I love what I get to do, but the pressures of life can have me feeling unsettled, and things can be too much at times. When I look at my to-do list, and the time I have… things don’t add up, and I get stressed.
I’ve been feeling a call to shift my focus onto the good things lately… to hand my anxiety over to the Lord, by simply trusting Him with my thoughts.
I’ve found when I get overwhelmed, and begin feeling like it’s just too much… I try to change my perspective.
There’s so much laundry to do… it’s just too much.
My children aren’t listening… it’s just too much.
There are bills to pay, and Christmas presents to buy… it’s just too much.
I can’t keep up with everything being thrown at me… it’s just too much.
But what if we changed the way we think? The feeling of being overwhelmed is just too much, but what else is just too much?
The blessings God has given me… it’s just too much.
The wonderful life I’ve been placed in… it’s just too much.
The family God has given me… it’s just too much.
When I start to think about the good things that are “just too much,” I can turn my mind away from all the things I’m drowning in, and remember I’m truly swimming in God’s goodness.
Take a second to thank God for being too good to you! He has been better than what we deserve. Maybe everything feels like too much, because He is waiting on you to hand it over to Him. I don’t know about you, but today, I’m going to hand my stress and anxiety over to Him. It’s just too much for me, but it’s never too much for Him.
